Nice staff, great atmosphere! Of course, good, hearty food and the selection is also clear, but numerous. Unfortunately there are not many parking spaces, but the restaurant cannot help! ;)

Classic spanish tapas! This little Restaurant has it all atmosphere, great food, nice staff and fair prices. We love to come here and order pretty much everything. Order a Sangria to your dinner and you'll be happy. I would recommend ordering the flaming chorizo, the ragu or filled mushrooms.Make sure to have a reservation if you are more than two people. And even then you have to be lucky. But it is always worth a try.

Simply the best tapas restaurant far and wide. Everything is right, from good food to friendly service.

Wonderful tapas, this was my first time here and will return very often. Saturdays it was full in the evening, so I recommend a reservation. But we also found a place without a reservation.

Simply delicious ?

My reservation was at 17:30, it was agreed that we would go until 8pm (we had something planned anyway). When we arrived, the waitress pointed out to us several times unfriendly that we had to "leave by 8". The service was very slow and unfriendly. The food was OK, but nothing special. There are much better tapas bars in Darmstadt. Besides, there is no way to pay with the card. Never again.

Very good tapas bar. Reservation is a must, otherwise you have to eat at the bar. But this fact speaks in favor of the El, highly recommended.

A great Spaniard who is always worth a visit. But you should always reserve a table. The staff is friendly and the food is good too. The selection of tapas is adequate, but not excessive. Our tapas tasted very good. We would like to come again.

The restaurant is a really good place, decorated in a very original way and it has an extensive tapas menu. To be honest (I come from Spain) the tapas are the best I ever tasted in Germany for a reasonable price. However, the service was horribly slow and it is not possible paying with credit card.

Cosy, intimate setting with selection of tapas and lovely sangria. Dates wrapped in bacon and cheese baked courgette are my favourites

Outstanding tapas and delicious sangria in an authentic tapas restaurant! We have eaten here several times and I highly recommend visiting El Cid! Reservation absolutely necessary, especially with more than 2 people. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was always friendly and attentive and the tapas quickly on the table. First of all there was bread, olives and a great aioli. The menu has something for every taste, but does not make you despair when choosing. With 3-4 tapas, a normal-good eater is definitely full. Low prices for such great quality. Always happy and definitely worth a visit!
